Another Award!

I’ve been nominated again! Thank you confessionsofyourhusbandsmistress for nominating me for the Liebster Award! I love reading your blog and your story, it seems we both struggle inside our heads and it helps knowing that I’m not struggling alone.

With every award comes rules. So here they are and let’s see how well I can follow…

  • When one receives the award, one posts 11 random facts about oneself and answers the 11 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
  • Pass the award onto 11 other blogs (while making sure one notifies the blogger that one nominated them!)
  • One writes up 11 NEW questions directed towards YOUR nominees.
  • One is not allowed to nominate the blog who nominated one’s own blog!
  • One pastes the award picture into ones blog. (You can google the image, there are plenty of them!)

For the 11 random facts:

  1. I hate hotdogs and mac n cheese…crazy and unAmerican…I know.
  2. I love reading young adult books, my dyslexia keeps me at a lower reading level and I also just like the stories better.
  3. I currently own 267 DVD’s. What can I say? I love movies!
  4. I have a dirtbike. Just wish I had people that wanted to ride more.
  5. I love volunteering with my fire department, but I’ve been horrible lately skipping training and not showing up much. I don’t know if it’s the depression or what.
  6. I geocache while working. We refer to it as “road familiarization” or “street training”.
  7. I go to bed each night wishing I had the money to get help like I know I need.
  8. I have been planning my resignation at hell since June. I hold onto my letter and frequently update the day on it just in case I need it.
  9. I’m thinking about becoming a doctor (post about that coming soon).
  10. I have a few men after me, at least one at any given moment, but I can’t figure out why. I’m so full of problems and far from having any looks…I just don’t get it.
  11. I’m still having a rough time and struggling with my parents divorce (post on that coming soon as well).

Now for the 11 questions I have to answer from the person that nominated me:

  1. What are you most proud of thus far in your life? —- I’m proud of where I have come in life and how far I have made it, mostly on my own. I think I have come quit far in this life with the extremely small amount of help and support I’ve had.
  2. What place would you recommend I travel on an exotic vacation? —- Well, that really depends on the mood you are in. You can make it an exotic vacation, but even if you don’t I HIGHLY recommend you go to Hawaii! Best vacation I’ve ever had!
  3. When you think of success, what words come to mind? —- Happiness. Love. Family.
  4. What life lesson(s) would you like to pass down to the next generation? —- I don’t have much experience to pass down, but if I had to give them some advice it would be this: “Don’t take life too seriously, no one gets out alive anyway. Life each day like it’s your last.” and “Don’t give up. Don’t lose hope. Don’t sell out.” – Christopher Reeve
  5. What’s your favorite movie? —- I love ALL movies, but if you want me to pick a few of my favorites (in no particular order) they would include, Patch Adams, Forest Gump, Dirty Dancing, Keith, Logan, Little Manhattan, The Blind Side, Hachi, Casper, Juno, K-9, Taken, Karate Kid, Stand By Me, Son-In-Law, The Proposal, The Sandlot…I could keep going forever!!
  6. What’s the best date you’ve been on? —- Any date with my man is great! He always treats me so well, either takes me out or we stay in…just any time spent with him is good. We had a very nice evening in Colorado last year. A friend had a log cabin up in the mountains just outside of Estes, completely secluded and powered by solar power, all hand build…just beautiful! Anyway, my man cooked me the most amazing steak dinner ever (with a little help seasoning the steaks by me)! Then while we were in the cabin it snowed, first big snow of the year, 10 inches! It was BEAUTIFUL! We got snowed into the cabin and had it all to ourselves…it was just the most wonderful time ever! He spent much of the time holding me close, rubbing my back, and just sat there with me. Best night of my life!
  7. Do you have a sexual fantasy that you wish weren’t just a sexual fantasy? —- Not anymore. ; ) I don’t talk about that much on my blog, but my man has pretty much taken care of any fantasies I did have. We don’t hide much from each other in that area.
  8. How would you spend one million dollars? —- Honestly…I wouldn’t. I would invest most of it and live off the interest. I would donate a good portion of it to different chariest or to people in need directly. I would pay off my medical bills too. And that is about it. I would probably buy a good size piece of land, or a few different ones around the county. I like space, land, and all of it!
  9. What’s the most generous thing you’ve done? —- I am way too generous! I put others needs above mine all the time. But as far as the most generous…I donated $200 to a friend when they needed it most. I sent it and made sure they would never know it came directly from me. They were so grateful, but I never told them it was me.
  10. What famous person would you like to meet? —- Johnny Deep! Totally!! The man is still hot! : ) No, I’m not after all older men, honest, but I would sure love to meet him!
  11. What is a new skill you’d like to learn? —- New skill…I don’t know, but I would sure like to learn sign language better. I really, really hope to get better at it!

Now for the blogs I follow (in no particular order) that I would like to share with you all:

Now for the 11 questions I want you all to answer…this is going to be the hard part!

  1. Why did you start blogging?
  2. Are you where you want to be in life?
  3. What is your favorite thing about life?
  4. Do you have an animal you love and that loves you unconditionally?
  5. What is/are your favorite book(s)?
  6. Can you recommend a book I should read or a movie I should watch?
  7. Do you know any firefighters/paramedics/EMTs out there? Other than myself of couse. What’s their story?
  8. Describe yourself to me in 3 words. Would your friends agree with that?
  9. When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
  10. What is your favorite time of the year?
  11. Tell me a secret, one you have never told anyone.

Good luck! And don’t forget to add me to your award page so I get to see your questions! : )

Another Award!

Wow, I can’t believe people actually read the crap I write and like it enough to nominate me!! Thank you Being Her, (the other woman)… for the nomination! For the record…if I could nominate you again, I would! You write your story so well! Thank you for sharing!

Now for the rules…

Award Rules:

Thank the person awarding you. Share a little about why you blog and how the journey started. Paste the blog award on your page. Nominate 10 other bloggers you feel deserve the award.

Why I blog and how the journey started…this is easy. I started blogging because I’m in an age gap relationship, with a man 24 years older than me, and when I went online for support I found very little. Our relationship is not considered “normal” and people have a hard time with it. Some days that hard time effects me too, so I went to blogging. I thought it would be a good way to get things off my mind and connect with other people in similar relationships as me. Recently my blog has changed to my family and the hell I’m living, but I will get back on track, sorry. I guess my blogging has turned into ranting about my life and problems, it will be happy and positive again soon. I’m working on this, but thank you for reading anyway. : )

Now, for the 10 I need to nominate (in no particular order), here goes:

1. My life as I know it…

2. Being a Beautiful Mess

3. buckwheatsrisk-surviving abuse

4. fourtiming

5. confessionsofyourhusbandsmistress

6. cul-de-sac confessions

7. Dirty Little Whispers

8. worldofminifigs

9. Jottings and Writings

10. Anna* Daily

Thank you all for sharing your stories! And thank you for the recent support! I really appreciate it!

Keep writing!

I’ve been nominated an additional two times and I would like to take a moment to recognize these bloggers! I can’t believe that many people read my blog and actually like it! Thank you!

The Top Left Key nominated me just a few days ago. Thank you! I came across your blog by accident and had no idea that you read mine!

I always also nominated recently by My Life as I Know it… I recently started reading this blog and love it too! Thank you for writing!

You can see my original post, Sunshine Blogger Award!, for my nominations and 10 questions about myself.

Thank you all for reading! And keep writing!

Sunshine Blogger Award!

20120529-103513.jpg

I’d like to thank the lovely confessionsofyourhusbandsmistress for nominating me! : ) I honestly didn’t think many people read this, but apparently one person does, so thank you! Thank you to anyone that reads the random crap I write.

The rules of the award are as follows:

1. Include the award logo in a post or somewhere on your blog.
2. Answer 10 questions about yourself.
3. Nominate 10 to 12 other fabulous bloggers.
4. Link your nominees to the post and comment on their blog, letting them know about the award.
5. Share the love and link the person who nominated you.

Looks like I have 1 and 5 done…now for the rest, starting with 10 questions about myself…this could be hard…

1. I can’t read. Sound stupid and I’m sure you laughing and shaking your head me, but honestly…I can’t read. I memorize words, I have to see and hear it before I can say it. I am unable to sound words out, mostly because I’m dyslexic, but between the moves and change of schools when I was younger I missed major parts of learning and never learned how to read. I learned to adapt and overcome it, but have been seeking out classes to help me.

2. I love my job, more than anyone can understand, it’s so rewarding!! However, I wish I made more money, enough to where I didn’t have to work 5 jobs. Yes…5, you read that correct. Sometimes I wish I was very rich, however, I’m glad I work for every penny I have. I just wish I had more money so I could be off work and volunteer my time more. I like helping people.

3. I love reading! And hate more than anything when a good book ends! Despite my inability to “read” I love reading. I love getting lost in books, however I need a dictionary right next to me for any book over the “young adult” level. I love eBooks on my iPad because I can click a word and see the definition right away, that helps.

4. I love teaching! That’s what 2 of my 5 jobs are and I love every single minute of it. I love teaching new people coming into this career and try to make them the best I can. I want them to do well, I want them to be able to help their patient in more than just physical ways, I like teaching them to help them emotionally as well. It’s more about being able to work with people and help them emotionally than it is to be able to preform the skills. Knowing your skills is great, but it’s better to be able to treat the person more than treating your illness. Like Patch Adams said, “You treat a disease, you win, you lose. You treat a patient, I guarantee you, you’ll win no matter what the outcome.”

5. I wish I could work less and relax more. This probably goes with number 2, but I really wish I had more time off. I’m getting tired of working so much. I should become a senator…make all kinds of money by doing nothing productive…lol I’m sure that will raise some political debates…sorry folks, please refrain, it was just a joke.

6. I used to wish I could erase my past but thanks to a friend that has changed. I hate the wounds of my past, but I am grateful for it because it made me the person I am today. I wouldn’t change that person for anything. I think I’m doing quit well for myself. I’m very mature in areas except for emotionally, I’m an adolescent when it comes to dealing with emotions, but I’m working on that.

7. I hate being sick to my stomach more than dealing with a migraine. I’d rather have a migraine any day! In fact, I deal with them on a daily basis. When I’m sick to my stomach I cry like a baby! I hate that feeling! And with all the medicine I’m on and the anxiety from my past life, I spend most of my time sick to my stomach, but I’m working on that.

8. I want to go back to Hawaii more than anything! I could see myself living there. I LOVE being in the county, but that is one city I could live in. I love water, I’m like a fish! Born to be in the water. And I’m quit good at surfing…and miss that bad! I can’t wait to do it again. I need money…lol

9. I want to be a writer, in my spare time (ha!). I want to write books, share my story, and organize everything in my head and put it on paper, I guess my blog is the first step to that. Organizing what’s in my head is the hard part, but I want to channel that all one day…I hope.

10. I wanted to be an actress my whole childhood, but I never even joined drama in high school or took any of the steps to do so, though many people think I should have. I don’t think I’m pretty enough for that. Probably why I never joined theater or anything in school, I don’t think I have the looks for it.

If you want to know anything else, just ask and I will answer. Leave it in the comments, I will answer anything that does not compromise my privacy.

Now, for the 10 to 12 people I want to nominate…I’m very sorry if you have already been nominated, I will do my best not to nominate you again! I promise!

Now, for the 7 things about myself…

No one and nothing can keep me off my dirtbike! I ride even when I’m sick or broken. I love it way too much to give it up for anything!

I love storms! But am scared to death of tornados…guess I live in the wrong area!

I’m lost without my necklace and can’t make it though my day, I just feel naked. Saint Michael protects me every day.

I hate that the family has gone it’s separate ways! I love having people around and being from a giant family, I hate that no one shows up for holidays and everyone is too busy to hang out.

I love playing Call of Duty! No matter what my mom says, girls CAN play video games!

I have broken more bones than I can remember, including bones in my face from a car accident.

My ADHD gets the better of me most days.
