Yep, it’s one of those days, a cold, rainy, lazy Sunday. Nothing to do, nothing to watch, nothing to read, no where to go…it’s just one of those “blah, why did I get out of bed” kind of days. Unfortunately I do have to get up at some point and get myself ready for another day on the job. I love work and I’m probably one of the few out there that will say I truly do love work! But since this is a lazy Sunday, I’m not looking forward to actually getting up and getting ready for work. I just want to stay all warm snuggled up with my pups, having that lazy day. From time to time, I hate being so busy! But then a day comes along where I have nothing to do and I hate not being busy. I just can’t figure myself out.
At Christmas this year I realized that my mother and grandmother are too much alike! So much so that they bought me two of the same gifts! Not identical, but close. My grandma got me a sock monkey hat to match the scarf she got me last year and got me a firetruck puzzle…my mother bought me a hat too, not sock monkey, but just a plain blue and a firetruck puzzle too! Weird! Nothing like opening similar gifts right after each other. Below is a picture of the firetruck puzzle my grandma got me…this thing took SIX 5+ hour days and 8 different people to complete! It was no easy task! You want a seriously hard puzzle, here it is! Oddly enough, it was able to keep the attention of 3 ADHD kids…though I think it helped that all three of us were working on it together. lol
I got to spend the whole weekend with my favorite boy! : ) Rex, you sure are handsome my man! And in the back you can see my other two boys, Patches (the teddy) and Blizzard (the goat). My man got me the teddy for Christmas last year since he can’t be with me when I’m home and at work, so the teddy comforts me in his place. And the goat was acquired this Christmas from a donation. Usually Blizzard stays at my mans house, but this weekend I stole him since my man was stuck working. He shall be returned to his rightful place this evening.
This little pup below is my mom’s dog, Tasha. She’s more like a cat/rat/flee all in one. lol She’s not much like a dog at all! Loves being on your lap! Claws, bites, and barks to get you to rub her belly. Begs like no other dog I’ve ever seen! And don’t put your plate down, not even on the table and leave it because when you’re not looking this little thing will sneak up and grab it before you know it. She’s got vacuum powers! It’ll be sucked down before you know what happened. From time to time she may sneak into my blog, today seemed like a good time to let that happen.
I’m curious to know if anyone that reads this knows about geocaching. If you don’t, you seriously need to look it up! Especially if you have kids! My cousins, my man, friends…anyone I introduce it to LOVES it! Basically, it’s a world wide treasure hunt! Using GPS devices or your phones. People hide boxes or “logs” and you go find them. Signing up for an account is free. And you’ll be glad when you do. It’s a blast! I can bet you have walked by several geocaches and never knew it. Go to their website www.geocaching.com for full details, watch the videos, read the stories…you will love it! Especially if you are into the outdoors, it’s a lot of fun to add to your bike rides or hikes. Your kids will really love it! My cousins do! Here’s an example from this past week, I kidnapped them and we went geocaching, which is what they pick 99% of the time when I get them. Do yourself a favor and check it out! I haven’t found a person yet that doesn’t like it. If you want more information on it, just e-mail me. I’ve hidden several myself and I even have trackables out there being passed around.
Geocaching will take you to some amazing places, new beauties in your area, parks you probably didn’t know existed, new places along your travels…it’ll be sure to surprise you each time you go. I have many pictures from geocaching adventures that I’ll be sure to post in a blog soon, first I have to round them up and decide which are the best to share. Be watching for it though, it’s sure to come soon.
